The flight over includes a layover in New York City. In the email today was the following letter:

Dear Mr. Harbor,

Please note your dinner at the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park is reserved. A driver will meet you in the baggage claims area holding a sign with your name on it. The driver will then carry your luggage to the car, and once at the hotel, he or she will leave the luggage with the concierge. Dinner will start at 6:30, and the next driver will pick you up at 8:30pm. You will meet at the concierge, and he or she will pick your luggage up.

Wow. This is all just like a dream. Don’t pinch me yet!

I’m flying to Doha, Qatar November 2-6 to interview with Texas A&M at Qatar for a position in Instructional Technology Services. I’m very excited about the opportunity to even be able to interview. It will be a pretty intense trip with basically two full days of travel each way and two days on the ground.

The conference is going really well. I’ve met a lot of cool people and have gotten to hear some interesting presentations. Probably the most fun so far was last night when I went to the Magic Kingdom with a few guys from work. The last time I’d been there was 10 years ago, so it was great to go again.

Orlando isn’t completely wonderful, though. As a friend from work that’s here with me pointed out, “How can it be the happiest place on Earth and not have Dr. Pepper?” My thoughts exactly!
